In 2018, Drafting Dreams has been successful in educating over 200 students, grades Kindergarten through 12th, on princples of architecture. This totals to at least 400 students total over our three-year existence. The purpose of this work is to inspire the next generation of architects, as well as to increase women and minority participation in the profession of architecture.

According to a 2016 report from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, the demographic breakdown of persons who initially become licensed as architects is as follows:

Asian    8%
African American    2%
Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander    0.3%
Other (Including Hispanic/Latino)    4%
Women    34%

Our belief is that these statistics can change by educating students K-12 on the profession of architecture, thus increasing the amount of students who are aware of the profession as a viable career choice.

The ArcEd Luncheon is the second part of our work. Teaching architecture to students K-12 sparks interest in students to attend college to study architecture. Funding their interests allows them to attend and graduate from an architectural degree-granting program. Please support these efforts!
